They are both experienced expedition and sports doctors who are be happy to be asked questions most doctors would ‘run away from’. They are pleased to offer a tailored medical and ECG for only £90 suitable for the forthcoming Marathon des Sables.

Medicals will be carried out throughout the day and until 15.00hrs the following day so no need to miss out on anything at the seminar.
Displays: There will be extensive ranges of equipment for you to look at, talk about to people who’ve used it and of course, buy it!
Guest speakers to Include:
Dr. Andrew Murray
Andrew is an experienced ultramarathon runner, and expedition/ ultramarathon doctor. He has won several ultramarathons, and stage races including The Sahara Race 2007 (RTP), 6633 arctic ultra (120 miler), The Scottish Ultra, and The Gobi Challenge, and competed in many others.
He's worked at numerous races in a variety of environments including the UK, the Desert, the North Pole, and the Himalayas. He works as a GP, and has a special interest in sports medicine. He's happy to do MEDICALS, and offer specialist advice for runners/walkers via the Sandbaggers or 50 Mile Challenge websites.
Phil Briggs
Phil is a former Royal Marines commando and member of the Special Forces. He divides his time between being an expedition leader and managing personal development courses in the outdoors. Amongst his many outdoor qualifications, he’s a qualified emergency medical technician and has spent many years serving on Mountain Rescue Teams. He holds vast experience of working and operating in desert, arctic & jungle environments. Phil is Race Director for the forthcoming Ultimate Jungle race – The Indo Ultra.
Keith Flood
Keith will be your host for the day and will be sharing his experience on multi day ultramarathon running , giving a powerpoint presentation of the MDS. Keith is an ex Royal Naval Physical Training instructor and spent more than 15 years in the leisure industry, managing multi million pound leisure complexes. He has taken part in a number of Ultra Events including the MDS in 2005 & 2007 and the Arctic 6633 ultra. Keith is currently training for the 2011 Gobi Challenge.
David Scott
David is the founder of Sandbaggers Ltd and the Race Director of Gobi Challenge and Scottish Ultra. An experienced and passionate expedition organiser he has led trips across the Great Victoria Desert, Mongolia’s Gobi Desert, the jungles of Northern Thailand as well as numerous trips closer to home. His lust for adventure has seen him involved in the ultra scene for many years both as an athlete and event organiser aided by the fact that he has a degree in physiology.
