Our thermal gaiters have been based on our existing sand gaiter design and modified by Champion Ultra runner and inventor Chris Todd who was the sole finisher of the arctic 6633ultra race in 2009. They feature a thermal inner and a windproof outer which can be detached and reattached independently of one another. This allows for ice and debris to be removed from the gaiter surface without any loss of warmth or wind protection. The gaiters come as a set of two pairs (one thermal, one windproof) with elasticated velcro around the base. For maximum effectiveness an additional outer gaiter should be purchased (available at a reduced rate).

"The thermal and windproof gaiters worked superbly well. My feet were always the warmest part of me, even down to -70 dec C (-40 plus wind chill)! During testing I tried three pairs of socks but found that my feet were more comfortable and warmer with the gaiters and just two pairs of socks. Additionally, the gaiters removed any worry about having snow melting on my shoes. The gaiters are an all round top bit of kit that I would recommend to anyone.''
